In addition to the programs and services offered by CAA, there is a wide network of community service providers in Butte County that may be able to assist you with other needs. This list includes just a few of the most widely needed services. We recommend starting with Butte 2-1-1 to help you find what you need quickly and accurately.

Butte 2-1-1

HelpCentral and Butte 2-1-1 provide a quick way to find low-cost and no-cost health and human services in Butte County.  Starting with Butte 2-1-1 can help you avoid multiple phone calls to find the services you need. You can access this information by dialing 2-1-1 and speaking to a live Information and Resource Specialist, or by visiting their website to search for specific services or browse categories.  Both resources are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are completely free.

Catalyst Domestic Violence Services

Catalyst provides crisis intervention services, including emergency shelter, for victims of intimate partner violence.  Their 24 hour hotline phone is 1-800-895-8476.

Chico Community Shelter Partnership

This organization operates the Torres Community Shelter in Chico which offers emergency shelter to single individuals (men and women) as well as families with children.

Oroville Rescue Mission

This organization operates emergency shelters in Oroville, Timothy House for men and Bethel House for women and children.

Housing Authority of the County of Butte

This organization operates emergency shelters in Oroville, Timothy House for men and Bethel House for women and children.

Legal Services of Northern California

This agency provides free or low-cost legal advice and representation for low-income persons on a number of subjects, including public benefits, housing, discrimination, health care, education, wrongful termination, etc.  Their toll-free number is 1-800-345-9491

Passages

Passages helps older adults and their caregivers through a variety of services, including an information resource center, health insurance counseling, care management, and senior meals.

Youth for Change, 6th Street Center for Youth

The 6th Street Center provides a safe place where youth experiencing homelessness can receive services to help them transition into healthy independent living and adulthood. They provide case management, meals, showers, laundry, clothing and assistance with job search, obtaining an ID or needed community referrals.
